Let’s go back to 1642. The Wilderen estate was a self-sufficient production unit. The massive half-timbered farmhouse was built and its walls plastered with clay, while cattle provided milk, wool, and leather. The farm distillery produced beverages. Yet, while the site saw plenty of hard work, it was also a place for exuberant celebration—especially during the fair, which would last for several days on end… a tradition well known in Sint-Truiden and the surrounding area.

A state-of-the-art brewery now stands on the site where ox stables once stood. During the restoration, the old facades were fully renovated. The contemporary architectural design creates a pleasing interplay between the historic distillery building and the modern brewery structure.
